4x+7=15

First step is to subtract 7 from both sides to get rid of it.
4x + 7 - 7 = 15 - 7
4x = 8

Now all you have to do is divide both sides by 4.
4x/4 = 8/4
x = 2

The answer is x = 2.

So 4x+7=15

Move 15 over so equals 0

4x+7 -15=0

4x-8=0

Move 8 back over
